I propose that the City of Leander create partnerships with community organizations to engage in projects that enhance quality of life through initiatives like local wellness programs, and educational opportunities. By co-developing public spaces, supporting environmental sustainability, and addressing local needs, these partnerships would contribute to a thriving, collaborative, and resilient community.
Leander should focus on maintaining a balanced budget, ensuring transparency in spending, and prioritizing essential services. We need to be prudent in our revenue management, investing in sustainable infrastructure, and promoting economic growth. The goal should be long-term stability, accountability, and the efficient use of taxpayer resources.
The city is addressing the water supply and we must focus on smart water usage. Emphasizing conservation, efficiency, and sustainability. This will involve reducing waste through responsible consumption, investing in water-saving technologies, and promoting community education. By safeguarding this vital resource, we can ensure access for all while protecting ecosystems and ensuring long-term availability for future generations.
As we’ve seen all too frequently, wildfires can devastate a community. While they may not always be prevented, their effects on life and property can be mitigated with long-range planning and preparation. As Leander grows, our risks increase. I’ll work with LFD to drive an evaluation of our risks and create plans to keep our families and businesses safe.
